#HIMedia The landscape of news reporting is changing dramatically. Our panel of professionals with wide experience in broadcast, print and on-line journalism will share their insights on the trends that are shaping the reporting of breaking news, the opportunities and challenges for journalists, and the kinds of stories that will matter in the future.
Rick Blangiardi is the General Manager of Hawaii’s largest multimedia company, Hawaii News Now, KGMB (CBS) and KHNL (NBC). He is a nationally recognized television broadcaster and held senior executive positions in Seattle, New York City, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Gina Mangieri, Investigative Reporter for KHON2, has both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University. She worked in New York, London, Chicago and Washington, D.C. as a reporter and editor in print and broadcast journalism. She was also editor of Pacific Business News.
Eric Pape is the Deputy Editor of Civil Beat. He’s written extensively for Newsweek magazine, the Los Angeles Times, Foreign Policy and Spin magazine. Pape has also contributed to The New York Times, The Guardian, Mother Jones, Salon, Slate and Vibe magazine.
